Monday opened with a gap higher that the market could not hold. SPX reached an intraday high of 7662.23 before reversing, and by midday all four major indices were trading below their opening prices — SPY opened at 759.46 and is now at 758.59, QQQ opened at 695.31 and has retreated to 691.12, both below their respective VWAPs.
The story this morning was written in the options market before the cash open: five coordinated SPX put sweeps totaling over $534 million in premium hit at 09:02 ET, all 0DTE strikes clustered between 7620 and 7650. That flow proved directionally accurate against the tape. With the 0DTE straddle still holding up at 64–69% of its opening value — well above the historical median decay pace — the options market is still pricing meaningful movement in the final hours of today's session.
